Who we are
The Meditation Center of AL (MCA) is a nonprofit (501c3) organization established in 2010. Our vision is world peace through inner peace. We believe that sustainable world peace can be achieved when each individual person attains their own personal peace. To this aim we have offered weekly meditation classes to the public for the past decade.
Our goal is to educate the public on how to practice mindfulness meditation, provide a peaceful atmosphere conducive to the personal attainment of all and grow a community of like minded individuals to support one another. We offer year round public workshops, private classes for business and organizations, research based lectures from clinical psychologists and visiting instructors, and meditation retreats with instructors from all around the world. (pictures below). We are funded solely by donations and are very grateful to the public for keeping our doors open.
We practice the Middle Way Meditation Method. The Middle Way is a simple method based on relaxation of body and mind and gentle focus at the center of the body. People from all walks of life, religions and nationalities have easily learned this simple method of being mindful to help achieve balance of body and mind and develop greater clarity in life. All our instructors are official instructors trained and certified by the Middle Way Meditation Institute in Thailand.
